PAMFT is the professional home for marriage and family therapists in the state of Pennsylvania. We offer annual conferences on both the East and West sides of the state, local workshops and networking events in many different regions, and professional development workshops for students and recent graduates. Our mission is to support therapists throughout every step of their career. We encourage all of our members to work toward licensure as marriage and family therapists (LMFTs) to ensure the highest quality of care as providers to the public.
We also work to help the public better understand their choices when seeking mental health care, and work to promote the special training and skills of marriage and family therapists. We hope to create an awareness of the benefits of therapy and to remove the stigma people may feel seeking therapeutic services. Marriage and family therapists treat a wide range of issues, and they approach their clients with both the individual and larger family system in mind.
PAMFT exists because relationships matter.
